LETTER FROM DR. MANDEL
Over a year ago, myself and a handful of other ketamine providers from all over the country came together to form a society that came to be named the American Society of Ketamine Physicians (ASKP). As a group of leading physicians, all incredibly passionate about ketamine therapy and the continued success and long-term relief that it offers, we decided to log the extra hours at the end of our patient care days to build a non-profit group to unify our progress in the ketamine movement. I was elected to serve as the first president, which is a responsibility that has given me great pleasure. I recently had the privilege of organizing and speaking at the first ever ASKP annual conference in Austin, Texas two weeks ago. As the president, and one of the original founders of ASKP, I was beyond thrilled with the success of this two-day meeting.
For the first time, as leaders and educators in this field of medicine, we no longer were the odd man out. We gathered medical professionals from around the world that are currently providing, and or willing to learn, about this life saving medicine - ketamine! We quickly gained attention and word of mouth spread amongst our small community of physicians. We were all ready to let go of any fear and prove the naysayers wrong. In the mental health industry, it is still protocol to push numerous medications on patients; even to offer them ECT and TMS before suggesting the life-saving benefits of IV Ketamine Therapy. At
Ketamine Clinics of Los Angeles,
we have had continued success, with over 80% of our patients benefiting. After engaging with fellow physicians, the conclusion of the conference w
as that KETAMINE WORKS! At the end of day, it is an excellent therapy and should be made available to all. In case you missed my presentation, check out our
Facebook
page where my welcome speech was live streamed. The quality of the stream is not great, but I hope you will appreciate it's content. More professional footage should be available soon.
The
ASKP conference was truly spectacular and an absolute highlight of my career. Thank you to all who participated in making the event seamless, and to those who show
ed up and shared their experience in this industry. A special thanks to Sam (Chief Operating Officer), Angel (Director Of Operations), and Alyssa (Patient Care Manager); having my administrative team with me kept me on task while allowing me time to mingle with all who came. Lastly, thanks to my team back home at the clinic who held the fort down in our absence. I appreciate you all!
As mentioned in our prior newsletter we are moving to a new and improved facility. The date has been pushed back to October 28th; unfortunately that's how construction often shakes out. Since we want the new clinic to be perfect, we are taking our time to get it just right. Make note that this new location will be our ONLY location. New address for appointments scheduled on October 28th and anytime thereafter is:
6801 Park Terrace, Suite 525
Los Angeles, CA 90045.
Have a wonderful Fall!

Flu season is upon us, don't forget to get your flu shot. Our team has all received their flu shots already and is armed with the antibodies to keep the flu out of the clinic! Call your provider or go to your local pharmacy to schedule yours. As healthcare providers we ask that you do your part to help prevent the spread of this unwanted virus.

Mental Illness Awareness Week
Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition. However, mental illness affects everyone directly or indirectly through family, friends or coworkers. Despite mental illnesses'
reach and prevalence
, stigma and misunderstanding are also, unfortunately, widespread.
That is why each year, during the first week of October, NAMI and participants across the country raise awareness of mental illness. Each year, we educate the public,
fight stigma
and provide support. And each year, our movement grows stronger.

Spotlight on Amanda
Happy 1 Year Workversary!
On October 4th, we celebrated Amanda's 1 year work anniversary at Ketamine Clinics of Los Angeles. As our Administrative Assistant, we rely on Amanda heavily to maintain all front desk operations and to educate patients from start to finish. She is often the first voice you speak with on the telephone and the warm smile that greets you when you walk through our doors. Skilled in many areas, Amanda assists with our patient care protocols, and works creatively with Alyssa on our social media. We appreciate her commitment to jump in wherever needed. Thank you Amanda for all you do, happy 1st workversary to you!! To learn more about Amanda and the rest of our team check out the "meet our team" page on our site.

Would you like to have your work displayed in our treatment rooms in our new clinic? We are looking for art or fine art photography of landscapes to be donated or commissioned. This would be great exposure! We ask that it is high-quality, and must be several feet large (apx 3X3, 4X4,etc.).
We are requesting 6 copies of the same art piece, one for each treatment room. We will happily share your business card with those interested in your art. Please send us an email or give us a call!
